The Muscat International Airport project involves the construction of a 332,000 square meter terminal. The capacity of this terminal is 12 million passengers annually. The main building is 460 meters long and 200 meters wide, and includes a four-star hotel with 90 rooms. A Bechtel-led consortium is responsible for designing and building the new 28 gate passenger terminal complex.

Bechtel International engaged KEO for a series of projects associated with support facilities for the new Muscat International Airport. KEO’s first commission, of a three-stage scope including infrastructure and irrigation, is to provide structural design and technical coordination for the walkways (shades and pavilions) in the passenger car-park area. The role includes coordination with the ongoing structural works on site. In addition, KEO is providing structural design and technical coordination for the bridge and road sign gantries.
