The ‘Patient Care Environment’ facilities upgrade project at the Women’s Hospital was primarily aimed at upgrading the existing facilities and creating the spatial and environmental conditions for the implementation of a patient centered care. Facility assessments included fire safety, sustainability, and accessibility assessment-and upgrades proposals. Building services were assessed based on surveys currently underway. The projects included detailed scopes of works including enabling works, decanting plans, site access, temporary partitions, and temporary dust, fire and smoke protection to works areas as needed.
The Women’s Hospital upgrade included all bedrooms, other than recently upgraded VIP suites, as well as planning and design for the change of use to occur after the opening of the hospital which also required refurbishment of the ground floor.
