This project consisted of the design and construction of a high end, residential villa situated in the farming area of the Wafra, Kuwait. Although a number of design concepts were explored, KEO selected an approach which enhanced the beauty of the site while allowing the villa itself to merge with its natural surroundings. As the desert is a constantly changing landscape, the image of rolling topography and changing levels became the basis for the design of the building. The use of a modern interpretation of the ancient adobe style of architecture permitted a unification of indoor with outdoor space. This enables the villa to embrace the natural peace and the limitless nature of the desert landscape. The planned planting of trees and other vegetation avoided any disturbance to the existing flora of the site, as well as providing ample shade for late afternoon strolls through the gardens.
