The Abraj Quartier is a major component of an ambitious mixed-use development to house over 30,000 people on an artificial island. ‘The Pearl’ is constructed in the waters of the Gulf. The development is a blend of contemporary and traditional design and is located at the entrance of the causeway which links the island to the mainland. The Abraj Quartier consists of 7 residential towers – 5 of 36 storeys and 2of 43 storeys; the latter 2 towers (AQ- 01 and AQ-02), with their associated parking podium, straddle the access road to the mainland at a height of 210 meters, and form the ‘gateway’ to the Pearl.
These 2 towers consist of a high quality commercial office development, and both have a full service cafeteria on the ground floor and a health/ fitness club on the roof of the podium at floor level 8. The cafeterias are designed with terraces overlooking the water on the South side of AQ-01; and overlooking the water and the boardwalk on the North side of AQ-02. In addition, AQ-01 tower has a high end restaurant/club lounge - The Pearl Sphere, at the summit, which overlooks the whole of Pearl Island.
