As part of a joint venture with Parsons, KEO was retained by the Ministry of Public Works, Kuwait (MPW) to provide tender evaluation, design review and construction supervision for the KUBD Waste Water Treatment Plant and Jahra Pumping Station. This was a turnkey project to design, construct, operate and maintain a pumping station and a waste water treatment plant complete with pressure mains, overflow lines, associated monitoring and control equipment in South Amgara and South of the new Jahra scrap yard area.

The aim of this project was to build a facility capable of handling an average waste water flow of 180,000 m3 per day with peaks of up to 270,000 m3 per day. The project was divided into three phases: phase one (twelve months) involved investigation, study and design, phase two was a 28 month period of construction and commissioning and the third phase, which included operation and maintenance, was of 2 years duration.
