KEO designed a prestigious Headquarters Building for the Ministry of Public Works and Housing in Dubai, UAE. The concept is a result of successful adaptive design strategies related to environmental, urban, cultural and functional considerations. A 5 storey Grand Atrium is surrounded by various departmental offices of the Ministry on one side and the Minister’s Suite and associated offices on the other. The Grand Atrium is covered with a modular skylight which provides ample natural light. The total built up area is 17,000 square meters, with parking provided in the basement as well as at the surface level.

In addition to providing complete architectural and engineering designs for this headquarters building, KEO also performed design services for the interiors, landscaping, signage and graphics. The resulting program is a significant guidance system that is adaptable, allowing for any future changes that may be required. From independent pylons and hanging signs to elevator and lobby directories, this efficient system guides the visitor to the correct department while maintaining the necessary landscaping throughout the project.
