KEO was awarded the contract by the Private Engineering Office (PEO) to provide the Design and Build Road Project for the National Day Ceremonial Road.
The original scope of work consisted of 9 kilometers of a three lane dual carriageway link road between Dukhan Road and North Road at Dukhan, with 11 kilometers of a two lane frontage road, two vehicular and two pedestrian underpasses. Included also was a drainage system, street lighting, traffic signs, service protection, a walkway and bicycle and camel track. In addition, there was the grading of plots on both sides of the road and a service road at the rear of the plots and two additional pedestrian underpasses, along with 11 kilometers of a two lane asphalt paved service road behind the plots and interconnected with five roundabouts. Further works consisted of one kilometer of a three lane dual carriageway link road with a bicycle track and walkway, two kilometers of a two lane duel carriageway underpass road, twenty one units of toilet blocks and eleven substations for the plots.
The original scope also included the widening of a bicycle track and walkway, involving the laying of 170,000 square meters of rubberized pavement, as well as 14 kilometers of water reticulation work, 45 kilometers of HV electrical cabling work and street lighting works.
