KEO helped the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) complete the construction of an Olympic Multipurpose Hall in time for the 24th Men’s Handball World Championship in early 2015. The arena will be used for a wide range of sports including: handball, basketball, volley ball, badminton, rhythmic gymnastics and international ice skating. The hall complies with local and international federation standards, and achieved the first GSAS 4 star rating for a sports facility. The hall is located at Al Lusail between the Shooting Club and the total plot site area is approximately 387,123 sq. m and consists of three main buildings with soft and hard landscaping with vehicle passages and parking.
The Multipurpose Hall holds the main arena, with a footprint of approximately 49,300 sq. m. This main building houses the largest arena and two training halls as well as facilities for athletes and spectators. In addition, there are VIP areas and a VVIP lounge.
