The Muscat International Airport project calls for construction of a 332,000 sq. m terminal. The capacity of the new terminal is 12 million passengers annually. The main building will be 460 meters long and 200 meters wide. It will include a four-star hotel with 90 rooms. A Bechtel-led consortium is designing and building the new 28-gate passenger terminal complex.
Bechtel International engaged KEO for a series of projects associated with support facilities for the new Muscat International Airport. KEO’s first commission (of a three stage scope including infrastructure and irrigation) is to provide structural design and technical coordination for the walkways (shades and pavilions) in the passenger car-park area, the role includes coordination with the on-going structural works on site. In addition, KEO is providing structural design for and technical coordination for the bridges sign gantries and the road sign gantries.
