The Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET) is an academic Institute in Kuwait. Considered one of the largest institutes in the Middle East in terms of total enrollment, the Institute has several campuses throughout the city. Our design for this project accommodates two of their Colleges (Technology and Business) accommodating 5,000 students and is located in Sabah Al-Ahmad City Area. Our design optimally orients all the buildings of the campus along the East-West axis promoting passive design strategies to reduce energy consumption, provide natural shading to courtyard spaces, and promote thermal comfort to its inhabitants. The educational buildings are comprised of Ground + 4 levels and are organized as double loaded corridors with northern atriums that overlook courtyards. An Elevated Street links all of the buildings together with glass bridges between buildings while also providing an enclosed connection to serve the parking areas.
