Hamad Medical City is the biggest healthcare development in the Middle East and one of the largest in the world. The facility provides patients, doctors and researchers with new state-of- the-art facilities and a fully equipped research center.
The Women’s Wellness and Research Center is part of the Hamad Medical City Campus in Doha which is in turn part of the Hamad Bin Khaifa Medical City.
The Women’s hospital has a total floor area of 76,500 sq. m located over 9 storeys. The original building was designed as a children’s hospital, however in 2012 it was re-designed into a Women’s Hospital. The schematic design stage drawings provided by STANTEC and approved by Hamad Medical Corporate (HMC) in September 2011, have been subsequently developed into the facility we see today. The fit out proposal includes the provision of 190 single patient rooms and over 60 bassinets for new born babies; highly advanced operation theatres, outpatient rooms, labor delivery recovery rooms; and a round-the-clock accident and emergency department that will include triage, ultrasound, treatment rooms, and delivery rooms.
